Make a Donation

Individuals may make tax-deductible donations to Awake In America’s Operation Restore CPAP to help fund disaster relief assistance for victims of Hurricane Ike.

Operation Restore CPAP provides direct assistance to individuals with sleep apnea which was diagnosed prior to the specific disaster approved for coverage. To qualify for the program, individuals must have been using a CPAP or BiPAP device prior to the disaster; have been living in a zip code covered in the Federal disaster declaration; have filed a claim with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and listed the CPAP or BiPAP as destroyed; and have basic information about the sleep apnea and therapeutic needs.

Once all information is verified, Awake In America ships the equipment to the individual. There is no cost to the individual for anything.

Your donation helps cover the cost of shipping the equipment to individuals who have lost their CPAP or BiPAP devices; cost of printing and mailing information, brochures, and fliers to various distribution centers, evacuation centers, temporary housing locations, FEMA and American Red Cross locations, among other places; and printing costs. The greatest cost involved in the program is the shipping cost, which averages around $30 per shipment.

All donations to Awake In America are acknowledged by a receipt from the organization, as well as the receipt you receive from the PayPal system instantly, at the time the donation is made. For your tax records, be sure to print and keep both receipts in a safe place, as Awake In America cannot issue replacement donation receipts.

Donations to Awake In America are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable under law. For specific information about tax deductions, donations, and other tax matters, please consult with a qualified tax consultant. Awake In America cannot provide tax guidance or answer questions on tax matters.
