Group Listings

Listing of our public Community Education & Support Groups

Our groups continue increasing in number. Why not take this opportunity to launch a group in your area today if you can’t find one in your area? Starting a group couldn’t be easier!

Below is a listing of Awake In America’s growing list of groups. This listing is incomplete, as some of our groups are associated with sleep labs and other clinics, and the coordinators opt to maintain the groups for their patients only.

Our groups continue increasing in number. Why not take this opportunity to launch a group in your area today if you can’t find one in your area? Starting a group couldn’t be easier!

Awake In America has taken all the technical issues out of the process by providing coordinators with a Coordinator manual complete with information about how to quickly and successfully launch a group, how to effectively run a group, and how to properly deal with various issues, including group dynamics and media relations. To ensure everyone is equipped with similar tools in launching and starting a group, we provide software tools on the CD — some of which are shareware tools, but most of which, and as much as possible, are freeware tools. To ensure information about your group is shared as widely as possible, we provide Web space on the Awake In America site for your group, along with an official Awake In America email address for the group coordinator.

Groups are independent of Awake In America, so the group coordinators are free of oversight by Awake In America. The coordinators also dictate the topics of meetings, as well as the determining the group’s focus, such as sleep apnea support group, a narcolepsy and/or narcolepsy and cataplexy support group, a restless legs support group, a community education & support group focused on sleep as the overall topic, or any other focus dealing with sleep.
